An Investment Advisor from the Old School.

Why Have an Investment Advisor?

Starting out, your investment questions may concern how much to put in a retirement plan.  As time goes on, more questions arise.
The cost of getting things wrong is much greater.

Investment Management

Clients trust us to select and manage investments on their behalf. At our firm, this means stocks and fixed-income securities that meet our strict criteria. Our key principle is that clients should be compensated for taking risk.

The Basics

  •  Money that’s needed for near-term withdrawals is kept safely in a bank account or money market fund.
  • Stocks can provide growth and an offset to inflation. Of course, wherever there’s the potential for profit, there’s also the possibility of loss.
  •  We want to own good businesses that can be held for many years.
  •  Our employees buy the same investments we purchase on behalf of our clients.+

Financial Planning

“A good advisor listens and understands your concerns, invests wisely, and coordinates with your tax advisor and attorney when helpful to get things done.”

– Matt Holloway, CEO

3 Key Steps in Financial Planning

  • Consider Your Priorities: Retirement, business ventures, charity, taking care of your kids and grandkids?
  • Align Your Investments: Consider short and long-term needs, tax efficiency, RMDs and estate planning.
  • Find Caring Expertise: Matt and Katerina are both holders of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.++

What Does It Cost?

A simple management fee is our only source of income. This fee is based on the assets that we manage for you. See our Firm Brochure ADV Part 2 Item 5.

+ While we buy the same investments for our personal accounts that we purchase on behalf of our clients, individual trade timing, weightings, and cash levels will vary based on personal financial circumstances. Employee trades require pre-clearance and must abide by the guidelines in our code of ethics, which is designed to uphold our fiduciary duty to clients. This statement applies only to securities purchased at our firm’s discretion (i.e., not client-directed).

++ Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
